It looks like Monday night’s roast fowl will be enjoyed by Bucs fans. For what reason is that the case? Well, shrieking Stephen A. Smith is down with the Bucs, to put it mildly. favorable manner.
Speaking this week on his hoarse show “First Dump,” Baker Mayfield will “cook” the Eagles, even if it seemed to hurt for him to say it. SAS said, “I’m not going to lie to you.” “I’m going to say that the Bucs defeating the Eagles is totally possible.” Yes, I’m going to assume.
“Over the past six weeks, I have not been impressed with the Philadelphia Eagles in the slightest. They are now only a shadow of their former selves. A.J. Brown is obviously not well, but I think he will be prepared.
“But, Tampa Bay’s defense, led by Todd Bowles, and players like Evans, Godwin, and the rest of the team are playing on their home field. I would still lean toward [the Eagles] if this were taking place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Why therefore should I give them any advantage when they play Tampa Bay away?
“I’m not impressed with the Philadelphia Eagles as of yet. They have completely changed from the previous year. In response, I would say that I do anticipate Baker Mayfield to scorch the Eagles defense.
This is a perfect game for Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rachaad White to dominate. Tyrod Taylor and Sam Howell are killing it for the Eagles, for crying out loud! Consider the potential of Mayfield. Boy, holler.
However, its idea has two flaws. Todd Bowles and Dave Canales both want to run the ball. And, of course, run some more, and even more, in between the tackles. The Eagles’ run defense is still rather strong. Nobody can be stopped in the air by them.
The second speed bump: it’s unclear how well Mayfield is doing. There is no way he should be throwing much at all if he is anything like he played at Carolina on Sunday.
Thus, they would be forced to run, which would be a dangerous trap to fall into, if the Bucs were to start a quarterback who is disabled once more.
