Police arrest 80, including gang members, in shootings, murders Of Little Baby.
Horry County Police arrested 80 people over the course of two weeks after noticing a trend of crime along S.C. 9 from Little River to Loris, according to the agency’s social media on Tuesday.
After noticing a pattern of murders, attempted murders, drive-by shootings, home invasions, auto thefts and car invasions along S.C. 9, Horry County Police created a multi-jurisdictional task force to investigate these crimes. Most of these happened between Little River and Loris with some crimes occurring in Conway and Myrtle Beach, police said.
Over the past two weeks, Horry County arrested 80 people, including 40 gang members, the Facebook post said. The agency also seized 58 weapons, over 60 grams of methamphetamine, 55 grams of fentanyl, over 47 grams of cocaine and nearly 36 grams of crack cocaine, according to social media.
A list of the 80 arrested has not yet been released.
Horry County spokesperson Mikayla Moskov said Tuesday that a list of those arrested is being put together, but she is unsure if all 80 names will be released.
Assisting agencies included South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division, U.S. Marshal’s Service, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.
