Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin announced that the club has re-signed forward Graeme Clarke to a one-year, two-way contract.
According to the terms of the deal, the contract will have an average annual value (AAV) of $800,000.
Clarke was acquired by the Wild last month from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Adam Beckman.
Clarke spent the 2023-24 season with the Devils’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Utica Comets where he tallied 25 goals and 24 assists for 49 points in 67 games. Clarke led the Comets’ in goals, game-winning goals and shots, he ranked second in points. Clarke’s play earned him a spot at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic.
The 23-year-old made his NHL debut with the Devils on Jan. 6, 2024, against the Vancouver Canucks, and appeared in three games with New Jersey last season. Clarke was originally selected by New Jersey in the third round (80th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft. Throughout his career, Clarke has scored 68 goals and 149 points in 218 career AHL games with Binghamton and Utica.
The Waconia, Minnesota product spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) prior to his pro career with the Ottawa 67s. Clarke’s season, much like others around the sports world was derailed in 2019-20 due to Covid. Throughout his OHL tenure, Clarke tallied 46 goals and 30 assists for 76 points in 134 games.
During the 2020-21 season, Clarke opted to go overseas with his younger brother and LA Kings prospect Brandt, where they played for HC Nove Zamky in Slovakia. Clarke notched one point in six games.
Internationally, Clarke has represented Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the Under-17 World Hockey Championships
