Luka Doncic drops a shocking social media message to Dallas Mavericks fans…
The Dallas Mavericks are in the middle of one of the most pivotal offseasons in team history, as they’re trying to reload their roster around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving to give them the best shot at making and winning the NBA Finals next year.
The biggest move of the offseason came when they made a sign-and-trade for Klay Thompson, and they’ve made a couple of other strong moves such as trading for Quentin Grimes and signing Naji Marshall.
Thompson is locked in on winning his fifth ring, and Grimes and Marshall can’t wait to get to work as well. With these three moves Dallas has made, they are down to one roster spot.
Dallas Mavericks subtly hint at re-signing Markieff Morris
It’s unknown the exact direction they want to go with it, but they may have hinted at the player they want to sign.
This summer, the Mavs have been posting the best photos from the regular season of players on the roster, and they posted photos of free agent forward Markieff Morris just a couple of days ago
Posting photos of a player from your roster last year who is also a free agent isn’t something you see every day, but all signs are pointing to a Morris return. It has already been reported that the Mavs want to bring Morris back, and Morris himself confirmed he’d be back.
Morris was extremely valuable for this Mavericks team last season, as he was a phenomenal veteran leader, and it wouldn’t be a shock to anyone if he returns next season.
Last season for Dallas, Morris averaged 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game while shooting 35.7 percent from downtown. Morris’ value mostly came from the bench and in the locker room as a leader, and this social post by the Mavs could have been a subtle sign of his return.
It doesn’t seem likely that a team would post photos of a free agent in the middle of July unless he is coming back, and all of the signs detailed above are all reasons to believe that a return looks promising for Morris.
For all the latest on the Dallas Mavericks and Markieff Morris’ free agency all offseason long, stay tuned as we’ll have you covered.
