San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is never afraid to speak his mind.
Recently, he gave a very helpful reminder to Niners fans that it is very hard to reach the Super Bowl and even harder to win it.
Deebo gave this helpful reminder on the social media platform X, and his post can be seen below:
If you cannot access or see the post, Deebo writes: “I wish mf stop acting like it’s so easy to get to Super Bowl and winning!!! Ion think yall really get it and understand frfr!!!”
To stay consistent with Deebo’s use of slang, his comments are “on fleek” as all the youngsters are saying these days.
But, seriously, he is right. We have a tendency as fans to forget how difficult the game of football is. It is tough to win a single game, let alone make the playoffs year after year.
What the 49ers have done over the course of the last five years is nothing short of remarkable with how often they have made it deep into the season and lost in either the NFC Championship or the Super Bowl. Many franchises go years and years without getting that deep into a season.
Of course, this may fall upon deaf ears with a spoiled Niners fanbase that is accustomed to excellence and championships. Older fans were alive to see the franchise win five Super Bowls, and younger fans have grown used to seeing the team make deep postseason runs basically every year.
Let’s face it: as Niners fans, we are spoiled.
It can be tough to admit it especially when the last three seasons have ended in such bitter defeat. But it is worth reminding ourselves that many fanbases would do anything to see their team play in a conference championship let alone the Super Bowl.
So, while it is easy to project now that the Niners will make another postseason run, things aren’t that easy. Players get hurt, guys underperform, other teams improve. The Niners could have easily lost in both the divisional round and in the NFC Championship last season. Not much separates winning from losing in football.
That is why it is important to take Deebo’s words seriously. It is tough to make it to Super Bowls and even more difficult to win them. We must cherish the good times because we all know they will not last forever.
