Birmingham appeal stance over Dion Sanderson red card 'nearly decided'

Chris Davies is thrilled. Krystian Bielik signed a new contract with Birmingham City, committing his future to the club.

Bielik has signed a new three-year contract with Blues, ending rumors that he would leave following the club’s relegation to League One. Davies is now looking forward to reintroducing Bielik into his starting lineup after the Pole was forced to miss the 5-0 friendly defeat to SC Paderborn 2007.

Explaining their absences, Davies said: “Krystian has an ongoing issue from the summer but he’s not too far away. Dembele and Tyler Roberts picked up something minor in pre-season but they are pretty much back in full training next week.”

Dembele faces intense competition for a place in Blues’ attack following the summer arrival of Emil Hansson. Keshi Anderson will also fancy his chances of taking that spot in Davies’ team having finishes last season strongly.

Roberts, meanwhile, needs to find form and fitness after an injury disrupted two seasons. He has been working tirelessly to prepare for pre-season but picked up a problem in the first week of training.
