SAD AND PITIABLE; Matt O’Riley shares what he’s noticed about Brendan Rodgers at Celtic recently

Like almost every Celtic fan on the planet, I am as concerned about the title race as anyone else.

With only three points separating Celtic and Rangers, one mistake might be costly as Brendan Rodgers attempts to successfully defend the Scottish Premiership title.
So, you’d think the Celtic manager would be feeling the pressure, right? If you listened to a specific segment of the media, you would believe that was true.

But not Rodgers. Matt O’Riley, the Celtic manager, appears to be taking it all in stride, admitting what he has recently discovered about the Irishman.

O’Riley admits Celtic title race is ‘exciting’
The Danish international has been one of Celtic’s most effective players this season.

But it’s what his gaffer has been doing recently that has left the 23-year-old enjoying this part of the season.

O’Riley said [Daily Record], “You can tell he enjoys it. We get that feeling too. Everyone enjoys it. Everyone should enjoy it.

“It’s fun when it’s close. I know from a fans’ perspective and I’d like it to be easy and 12 points clear.

“But when it’s close it brings out that extra fire in everyone and drive so I think it’s really enjoyable.”

Indeed, this isn’t the first time that this has been noticed by one of the Celtic squad. We told just last week how Liam Scales admitted that Rodgers is very calm and relaxed heading into the top-six split.

And it’s great to hear that O’Riley has noticed the same. But encouragingly, it seems the pressure and nerves that the Celtic supporters are feeling is not being shared by the players and that will bode well for us as we head into the Hearts and Rangers games over the next two weeks.
