As he prepared for the battle for Premier League survival, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers pointed the finger at “costly moments” for their most recent poor performance.

The Foxes are in a dangerous situation in the table, level on points with Bournemouth, who occupy the final relegation spot, after suffering five successive losses in all competitions, including their FA Cup departure at the hands of Blackburn.

Leicester’s next opponent is Brentford, who are vying for a spot in Europe and have only lost once in 14 league games.

Rodgers has identified inattention as the cause of Leicester’s current four-game losing streak in the league.

“We’ve had costly moments within games – when I analyse and watch us play, we have some really good moments but then there’s moments within the games which are costing us,” the speaker stated at a news conference.

“For me, it’s not about knowledge because players already possess it; it’s about concentration because, at this point, you are penalized the moment you lose focus.”We are aware of the difficulty of the task at hand; with 12 games remaining, we are essentially in a nine-team race, and we aim to finish higher than that.

The final match before the international break will be Leicester’s trip to Brentford.

The club’s season has not been up to pace, and they are hoping to avoid finishing lower than they have since being promoted back to the top division in 2014—their lowest being 14th at the end of the 2014–15 season.

Rodgers has emphasized that coaching is the key to keeping Leicester in the Premier League, and he believes that the break will help players return rejuvenated and prepared for the home stretch.

We will try to enter the international break with a strong performance and outcome since that is always a wonderful thing to do.

It’s been a difficult season for us, but it will also be about maintaining that freshness since we know when we come back. Sometimes they may help players to heal mentally.
