Geno Smith has brought a refreshed appreciation for Mountaineers in the NFL. However, not all WVU stars have gone on to find glory at the professional level.

Throughout history, the Mountaineers have had 198 former players hear their names called during the NFL Draft.

Out of the 198 former WVU legends, which four have fallen well short of their expectations?

Stedman Bailey was the 92nd overall choice in the 2013 NFL Draft, selected in the second round by the then-St Louis Rams.

Bailey was suspended for six games just one year after violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance rules.

Apr 30, 2015; Chicago, IL, USA; Kevin White (West Virginia) is selected as the number seven overall pick.

Bailey’s stats during the next season were relatively meager, with only 12 receptions for 182 yards and a solitary score. In 2016, he was placed on injured reserve following surgery to treat a gunshot wound and never returned to the NFL field.
