NRL Casualty Ward: Raider cops suffer horrific defeat as new blow emerges.
Star fullback Jayden Campbell, who was forced to leave Sunday’s game early due to a knee injury, will be a worry for the Titans.
After being substituted in the 64th minute, Campbell was seen sitting on the bench with an ice pack on his left knee.
The 24-year-old, who missed the beginning of this season and the latter part of last season owing to an injury to his second knee, is dealt a further setback.
Campbell is going to be scanned.
Meanwhile, in the same game Zac Hosking suffered a shoulder injury.
Hosking, who returned in Round 6 from a concussion, stayed down after attempting to tackle Titans star AJ Brimson. He was taken from the field with his left arm in a makeshift sling made from his jersey.
It was later reported that he had dislocated his shoulder.
DRAGONS LOSE STAR AMID HIA DRAMAS
There were controverisal scenes as the Dragons disputed a ruling on Jack Bird’s head knock that saw him ruled out of the game against the Tigers by the independent doctor.
Just before half-time Bird’s head collided with the ground and he went off for a HIA, but Dragons tried to challenge the call of the independent doctor.
“Bit of controversy on the sideline Jack Bird has been deemed a category one by the independent doctor, so he has been ruled out of this game,” Jake Duke said on Fox League.
“The Dragons were not happy with that ruling. They wanted to try and talk about it and challenge it, but apparently you cannot mid-game so Jack Bird has been ruled out by the independent doctor, but that one could be one for this week.”
“A category one for head hitting the ground as opposed to head clash,” Andrew Voss added.
“If it stands it will also take Bird out of the Dragons’ clash against the Warriors on Friday night.”
Coach Shane Flanagan confirmed post-game that Bird had failed is HIA but the club was disputing the category.
