SAD NEWS: After a fight with CeeDee Lamb, the Dallas Cowboys technical director was fired because of…..
After Dak Prescott was almost sacked in his end zone, the Dallas Cowboys appeared unlikely to have the first 90-yard play from scrimmage of the season.
In the first quarter, Prescott faced the risk of losing his job due to a safety on third-and-13. Derrick Barnes had Prescott squarely in front of him when the Lions launched forth a rush. However, Prescott ducked out of the pocket as Barnes fumbled and Prescott made a little movement to dodge the rush. He gestured for CeeDee Lamb to go deep as he rolled to the right.
Prescott hit a deep shot after Lamb listened. Lamb in the rear.
That’s the longest play from scrimmage of the NFL season. George Pickens’ 86-yard touchdown for the Pittsburgh Steelers last week had been the longest.
It’s the third-longest play from scrimmage in Cowboys history, and the second-longest pass. The longest play is Tony Dorsett’s 99-yard run in 1983. The longest pass is 95 yards to Bob Hayes in Nov. 13, 1966. The catch was Lamb’s 111th of the season, tying Michael Irvin’s franchise record for a season. He went on to finish with 13 catches in the game for a career-high 227 yards, bringing his season total to 122 grabs.
It was a record-setting play, and it was close to being two points for the Lions instead.
