Celtic set to accept Stephen Welsh bid 'soon' after latest twist - expert

SULLIVING NEWS: Stephen Welsh, the Celtic defender, will not play after this. He can play again.
Stephen Welsh, a defender for Celtic, was pulled off the field due to injuries during the Glasgow derby last weekend. Maik Nawrocki took his place on the field, entering the game without causing any damage to himself.
After making an outstanding cameo, the Pole started a few days later against St. Mirren, assisting his club in keeping a clean sheet.

Since he came off against Rangers, though, there have been few updates provided on Nawrocki’s defensive teammate. Initially post-match, Brendan Rodgers said that the medical team would see how things panned out over the days following the derby for Welsh.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old’s shoulder injury isn’t as bad as first feared. This is positive, but the Hoops will be in no shortage of options at central defence post-winter break

By then, Cameron Carter-Vickers will be back fit with Liam Scales and Nawrocki both available, too. Adding Welsh to the mix brings added depth that Rodgers will gratefully welcome.
