BRENDAN BAN: CELTIC ‘DISAPPOINTED OVER……..

BRENDAN BAN: Celtic feels let down
Following Brendan Rodgers’ exclusion from the dugout for Sunday’s Premiership match in West Lothian versus Livingston, CELTIC released a succinct, pointed statement.
The manager will also be able to resume his customary spot trackside at Ibrox the following weekend, having been handed a one-match suspended sentence until the end of the season.

The SFA disciplinary panel met with Rodgers earlier this afternoon in response to his remarks made after the highly contentious 2-0 loss to Hearts at Tynecastle on March 3. The Irishman took issue with the way the game was handled, since the hosts were given a fake penalty kick and winger Yang Hyun-jun was sent off.

Both contentious decisions were made by referee Don Robertson following interventions from VAR official John Beaton.

The statement read: “Clearly, we are disappointed with the outcome of today’s hearing, although we will accept the panel’s decision.

“The Manager appeared at the hearing today, and his defence was presented robustly and thoroughly.

“Like many other clubs, we will continue to press for the highest standards in relation to the VAR process in Scottish football.”

New technology has created consternation among the top-flight clubs since its inception in October 2022 and Crawford Allan will step down as head of SFA refereeing at the end of the season.

Incredibly, Robertson, heavily involved in the bizarre decision-making at Tynecastle, will be in charge of Celtic’s game at Livingston.
