After Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL, the Wolverines were anticipated to have significant turnover, particularly on defense because every member of the staff went as well. However, as of right now, only one signee has requested to be released from his national letter of intent. Athlete Jaden Smith, the four-star prospect from Charlotte (N.C.) West who was anticipated to attend Ann Arbor as an edge rusher, revealed on February 11 that he would be attending another university. It turns out that Smith will be joining a few other defensive linemen.

Along with Jerod and Jacob Smith, who also transferred to the Wildcats, Smith announced his transfer to Kentucky on Tuesday. Michigan football struggled to retain defensive linemen this cycle due to Elias Rudolph’s offseason move to Miami, Florida, as well as the non-attendance of those three players.
