In addition to needing a tight end, the Cincinnati Bengals don’t even currently have one under contract.
The Bengals’ lack of depth at tight end continued into the 2024 season, but Cincinnati can address that in free agency.
The Bengals have been matched with Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant, who is expected to be among the best players available at his position throughout the offseason, according to Jared Dubin of CBS Sports.
Fant might also be gotten for a low price because he is coming off a very disappointing 2023 season in which he only managed 32 receptions for 414 yards and no touchdowns. All those figures were career lows.
Fant’s stats might go up if Joe Burrow throws him the pass.
The Denver Broncos selected the 26-year-old with the 20th overall choice of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played NCAA football at the University of Iowa.
During his debut season, he participated in every game and performed admirably, hauling in 40 passes for 562 yards and three touchdowns. In his sophomore year, Fant made some progress, catching 62 passes for 673 yards and three touchdowns, but in 2021, Fant’s
Fant was moved to the Seahawks during the next summer, and he made 50 grabs for 486 yards and four touchdowns in his first season there.
Fant is a dependable tight end who might wind up flourishing in Cincinnati’s offense, despite the fact that he has been a bit of a disappointment since joining the league.
In the upcoming weeks, we’ll see if the Bengals, who are in need of a tight end, make a move for Fant.
