The New York Jets quarterback sitting is currently a disaster. Really, it’s been that way since Joe Namath. But the Jets are hoping Aaron Rodgers can stay healthy this season in a quest to take the team to the Super Bowl.
But the Zach Wilson experiment is over for the Jets. General manager Joe Douglas said the team permitted Wilson to seek a trade this offseason. The Jets will need to spend the next few weeks trying to find a trade partner before deciding if their better option is to cut Wilson.
Cody Benjamin with CBS Sports named the Las Vegas Raiders as a logical landing spot for Wilson:
Wilson’s large final year of his rookie deal would earn the Raiders a Day 3 pick and allow the young quarterback to contend for a starting position in a more secure environment the following season. In order to maintain Rodgers’ health, the Jets would be able to release some cap space and bolster their offensive line.
