On Wednesday, Jets general manager Joe Douglas informed media that his team had granted struggling quarterback Zach Wilson permission to pursue a trade.
The 49ers should consider giving the former No. 2 overall pick some extra time to play quarterback, as Brock Purdy is the only quarterback on the roster with a 2024 deal.

Wilson was selected second overall in the same draft. Trey Lance selected the 49ers third overall. Due to his pure potential, Lance was worth more than Wilson when he was dealt last preseason for a 2024 fourth-round pick. Wilson’s value has been reduced to that of a conditional late Day 3 pick due to his considerable rough football experience.
