Trevor Lawrence joined an unfortunately growing list of NFL quarterbacks to stuffer serious injuries to begin the season.

The extent of Lawrence’s injury is unknown as of late Monday evening, although multiple reports state Lawrence suffered an ankle sprain after not being able to finish Monday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaking of the Bengals, Joe Burrow is out for the season after undergoing wrist surgery.

New York Jets opening-game starter Aaron Rodgers made it four plays with his new team before tearing his Achilles, and is still flirting with a return to the field this season.

Another quarterback who suffered a serious injury and may come back this season is Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, who will be out for the next few weeks with an ankle injury.

One quarterback who is out for the season is Kirk Cousins, who also tore his Achilles on October 29, with Rodgers trying to reach out to Cousins and offer him advice on the injury.

In a contract season, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones tore his ACL, leading to Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito starting in his place.

After a promising start to his rookie season, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will return in 2024 after shoulder surgery.

Also needing season-ending shoulder surgery was Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

If the season ended now, including Lawrence, four of the seven AFC playoff teams would’ve had its quarterback suffer a long-term injury.

Those unaffected AFC teams thus far are the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens.
