Bulldogs athletic director Eric Wood made the following official announcement on Saturday regarding the senior linebacker’s punishment:

In our meeting with Brevin Randle today, Coach Cumbie and I told him that he has been suspended indefinitely due to the events of last night’s game against UTEP. He realizes the consequences of his actions and admits that what he did was wrong in their conversation with Brevin. That in no way reflected the values of our university, athletic department, or football program—culture, class, and competitive excellence.

Randle was seen on camera stomping on the head and neck region of a helpless player who was on the ground during last night’s victory over UTEP. Although he was not called for the foul, the repulsive act received harsh criticism on social media from league observers and supporters from all throughout the league.
