HONOLULU (NewsNow Hawaii) – The alarm is being raised by child advocates and parents on a startling string of sexual assaults that happened at an Oahu middle school.

The abuse was indeed recorded on a mobile phone camera and shared among kids, according to the Texas Department of Education.

Currently, numerous parents are concerned about the security of their kids.

A 13-year-old was detained by Honolulu police earlier this month after it was claimed in a video that he had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old classmate. Law enforcement sources claim that both boys attend Washington Middle School and are enrolled in a special needs program.

According to HNN Investigates, the administration of Washington Middle School was informed on January 24 that students were sharing a “sex tape” on school.

Staff reportedly recognized two pupils in the footage.

According to sources, the victim informed school officials that the same student had sexually attacked him on campus multiple times while an administrative investigation was underway.

Parents assert that the alleged attacks took place in a school restroom, but the DOE has declined to provide the location. Officers took the 13-year-old suspect into custody on February 3. He is charged with repeatedly sexually abusing a child under the age of fourteen. According to police sources, a second 13-year-old child was also taken into custody on an unspecified offense.
Children should feel comfortable when they attend school. And the fact that a youngster has to experience it is terrible. Nobody should, according to a number of parents who discussed the subject with HNN Investigates, including Alexis Crieck. Criek is advocating for more security on campus.

Others want school administrators to be more open and honest.

The Department of Education refused to participate in any interviews for this story, even after repeated attempts. Principal Michael Harano stated he was unable to provide any details regarding the criminal accusations in a letter that was sent home with parents on January 25.

“The incident that happened is a felony-level offense with potentially severe consequences,” the memo continued. Additionally, “to stop other improper movies from being shared, we’re asking all kids and families for their help.”

“It is the school’s duty to ensure the welfare of all children while they are in school,” stated Honolulu-based lawyer Jon Jacobs, who focuses on defending sex assault victims. It seems that the kids may not have had proper supervision in this situation.
