By 2024, the New York Giants will have a lot of unanswered questions at quarterback. Daniel Jones, the quarterback, is the main topic of discussion. Contractually, he will probably be the best choice next year. But, given the possible buyout, his future with the Giants after 2024 is unclear.
The Giants currently own the sixth overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2024. There has definitely been talk of the Giants selecting a quarterback in the draft because there is a strong class of quarterbacks. According to one NFL observer, Daniel Jones will face competition in 2024.
Joe Schoen addressed the media this morning at the NFL Scouting Combine. Regarding QB Daniel Jones’s current circumstances, he made a statement. Those remarks appeared to imply that Jones would not be the starting quarterback in 2024.
Chris Simms, though, is doubtful that this is the case. According to Simms, Schoen made a statement on the quantity of recent injuries that Jones had. Simms concludes from this that Schoen is at least dubious about Jones’ longevity.
There is a clear worry over Daniel Jones’s endurance. It must indicate that they have brought someone in, either as a starter or as insurance. -Simmons, Chris
Jones experienced a number of injuries during the 2023 NFL season. First, during the Week 5 game vs the Miami Dolphins, Jones had a neck injury. Then, just a month later, Jones sustained a non-contact knee injury that ended his 2023 campaign. Jones additionally suffered a cervical spine injury in 2021.
The key point is that Jones’s NFL past does not support him. Hence, it makes sense for General Manager Joe Schoen to think the Giants require a little quarterback insurance.
