Juan Soto has already established a good rapport with Aaron Judge, the team’s greatest player and captain, suggesting that he already loves being a part of the New  York Yankees.

Soto homered in his spring training debut with the Yankees on Sunday.

In his first spring training game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, Soto—who was traded to the Yankees in a seven-player transaction in December—powered the home run to cap off a 12–6 triumph in the fourth inning.

However, Soto’s remark regarding Judge following the game garnered nearly as much attention as his enormous 428-foot home run off the scoreboard at Tampa’s George M. Steinbrenner Field.

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Soto stated that getting to know Judge is “even better than he expected.”

According to Hoch, Soto remarked of Judge, “I knew he was a great guy, but I didn’t know he was that good.” “Everything is good, even his vibe. He’s just trying to win as much as he can and thinking positively.
Judge retaliated by stating that he hopes to make Soto’s season with the Yankees “his best,” implying that a dominant Soto advances New York’s chances of winning a championship.

He’s a Yankee from New York. I wanted this to be a great year for him, his first year here. Judge stated of Soto, “I want it to be his best year,” according to Hoch. “It will only bring us one step closer to a World Series if he is feeling good and doing what he does.”

On Sunday, Soto went 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk, and three RBIs while batting second in front of Judge. Judge, meanwhile, scored an RBI while going 2 for 2.

It is unlikely that Soto, who signed a record arbitration deal in January, will sign a contract extension with the Yankees prior to the end of the season, when he becomes a free agent.
