Known for placing large bets, Marco Piemonte most recently wagered $600,000 at DraftKings Sportsbook on the San Francisco 49ers moneyline in Super Bowl 58 at -120 odds. Regretfully, the 49ers were defeated 25–22 in overtime by the Chiefs.

Additionally, he placed a $170,000 wager at DraftKings on the Detroit Pistons ML at +600 odds during their game against the Sacramento Kings on February 7. He won more than $1 million and the Pistons won the game handily (133-120) as 13.5-point favorites.

He’s back at it, with college basketball as his target this time.

Piemonte has staked $200,000 on the Tennessee Volunteers to win this year’s men’s NCAA basketball championship at DraftKings with 14-1 odds. If Tennessee is able to accomplish the miracle of winning their first men’s national title, the wager will pay out a handsome $2.8 million.

The Vols (20-6) have 13-1 odds to win the championship at DraftKings and are now the No. 5-ranked team in the country.

Notably, Tennessee is ranked No. 7 in the nation by KenPom. More significantly, though, is that the squad has a 56.1 continuity percentage, which measures the proportion of minutes that a team’s players play that remain the same from season to season. The average continuity percentage of the tournament-winning team is 59.9 percent, despite the fact that UConn created history last season by winning the title with the lowest continuity percentage of any winner since 2007.

In the meantime, another statistic worth monitoring is called “Kill Shots,” which is defined as an unbroken scoring streak of 10 points or more. Tennessee is ranked No. 5 overall by EvanMiya.com. This season, Tennessee has scored 16 goals while giving up just five. With 0.19 Kill Shots Per Game, the Vols are tied for sixth-fewest in Division I.
