According to transfer insider Dean Jones, West Ham United may try to offload “four or five” players during the 2024 winter transfer window in order to make room for two more signings at the London Stadium.

Despite having a difficult start to the 2023–24 Premier League season, David Moyes’ Irons team has advanced to the Europa League round of 16 after winning their group.

After winning the Europa Conference League in June 2023, the Hammers entered the season high on confidence and intend to capitalize on that accomplishment to establish themselves as a regular fixture on the continent. Moyes intends to use the January transfer window as a chance to make additional changes to the West Ham roster before the second half of the season begins.

There is a case to be made, though, that Moyes’ team is now overly full of players who won’t compete for playing time as a result of those acquisitions. It’s unlikely that seasoned players like Anglo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell will be chosen when it counts, while bench players like Ben Johnson, Thilo Kehrer, Conor Coventry, Said Benrahma, and Danny Ings might look to leave in January.
