The New York Giants signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract about a year ago. However, general manager Joe Schoen is reportedly willing to trade up for a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft if the right opportunity arises, following Jones’s poor play and two major injuries in 2023.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, “The Giants have the No. 6 overall pick and two second round picks; they picked up one in the Leonard Williams trade mid-season last year.” “They might glance at the quarterback with those. Multiple people have informed me that the Giants would be at least seriously inclined to consider the quarterback position if the right circumstances arise. Who will that be, exactly? Since the procedure is still early on, we don’t know at this time. There’s the combine, the pro day, and the visits. You can talk to them and get information on the quarterbacks there.

Raanan continued, “The Giants believe that not every quarterback is ready to compete in such a large market as New York.” Whether Joe Schoen and the Giants are willing to choose a quarterback in the first round will be decided in the upcoming weeks and months.

The quarterbacks in action if the Giants trade up will probably be Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and Caleb Williams. It appears like the Chicago Bears will select Caleb Williams first overall, and the Giants would need to make a huge trade to get into the top slot. The division foe Washington Commanders possess the pick and are probably going to take the second place, so that location is definitely out of the question.

The New England Patriots own the third pick, and there have been whispers that they may choose to start an experienced quarterback and then trade down. In that scenario, the Giants might agree to a trade to advance to the third pick and choose from Jayden Daniels, Williams, and Drake Maye, whoever is remaining.
