Dallas — Kyrie Irving, the best player for the Dallas Mavericks, will sit out his first game of the season on Tuesday night against Cleveland due to personal concerns.

The NBA injury report lists Doncic and fellow guard Dante Exum as out for personal reasons.
At 31.1 points per game, the 24-year-old Doncic ranks third in the NBA in scoring. In addition, the four-time All-Star averages 8.1 rebounds and 7.9 assists.

With Doncic and eight-time All-Star Kyrie Irving teamed together for the first time since the start of the season, the Mavericks are off to an 11-6 start. Irving scores 24.6 points a night on average.

Following Irving’s acquisition in a blockbuster trade with Brooklyn in February of last year, Doncic and Irving battled injuries. This season, Doncic has struggled with calf and thumb problems, and Irving has missed three games due to a foot problem.
