After losing key players like Jalen Ramsey and Leonard Floyd to injury last season, the Los Angeles Rams defense played far better than many had anticipated. This past season, a handful of the team’s youthful defensive players made significant contributions to guide the defense as a whole. However, the Rams’ defense might get even better if they went after a veteran presence.
One trade that was examined in a recent Bleacher Report story that outlined moves that might create the next great defensive was Khalil Mack’s move from one Los Angeles team to another. According to the proposed trade, the Rams would send Mack a third-round pick in the next NFL Draft. The Rams may find this to be a compelling concept as it provides them with additional quarterback pressure and an experienced player to complement Aaron Donald on the defense.
“Despite the overall youth on the Los Angeles Rams, they notched 10 wins and made the playoffs,” stated Bleacher Report. “Byron Young and Kobie Turner, two rookie pass-rushers, had a significant initial impact on L.A., which contributed to their unexpected climb. However, the Rams’ edge-rushing depth was limited to Young and Michael Hoecht. That answer could come from Khalil Mack.”
