– A automobile struck several cars and people in a St. battle hawks junction overnight, killing two ladies and injuring a number of others.
According to police, the deadly collision occurred at 18th and Olive at 12:30 in the morning. A 2020 Jeep Cherokee reportedly ran a red light and sideswiped the front of a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, according to St. Louis police. The Jeep then left Enterprise Center for the Drake event and struck two women who were using the crossing with the right of way. After that, the Jeep collided with a 2015 Mazda CX-5.
The victims were identified by the police as Laticha Bracero, 42, and Alyssa Cordova, 21. From Chicago, the mother and daughter were on a visit.
Nicole Rivera, a cousin, tells First Alert 4 Friends and relatives referred to Laticha as Lety, and this month she celebrated turning 42.
According to Rivera, “you know when you get calls in the morning, they’re usually not good ones.”
According to Rivera, the family is grieving as a whole.
Rivera remarked, “Someone stole them from us and we’ll never have them back.” “It’s not just.”
It’s not unusual for Christy Davis, who has worked for ten years at the White Knight Diner Downtown, to walk into her workplace and find the wreckage of a vehicle accident right outside.
“All I had seen this morning was the debris outside,” Davis remarked. “We frequently have accidents here.”
According to SLMPD, the driver of the Jeep had been speeding and running red lights for several blocks along Olive before arriving at 18th.
“Given the abundance of events and attractions people enjoy visiting our city for, it’s sad and regrettable that things like that are occurring Downtown,” Davis remarked.
The driver, Monte Henderson, 22, was accused of two counts of armed criminal action and involuntary manslaughter.
Henderson was freed from custody on Friday after posting 10% of a $20,000 bond.
