In the previous three weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles added three players to their roster at spots where depth is an issue. Let’s examine each one in more detail.

Julian Okwara

The NFL offseason storm is about to pick up steam. For the Philadelphia Eagles, it’s the quiet before the storm till then.

As the calendar continues to tick down to the start of the new league year on March 13 and the three days leading up to it known as the legal tampering period, they have already taken three actions. That’s when the lightning strikes, the thunder starts, and money starts raining.

Those three movements can result in large splashes, or they might just create little puddles.

Here is a look at every player they signed as a reserve or for potential future deals:

Linebacker Julian Okwara – Signed on Valentine’s Day, this could be the most romantic agreement of the three. The Eagles need linebackers, as everyone knows. Howie Roseman, general manager included. Okwara is only a rookie in the league with a resume.

He was a 2020 Detroit Lions third-round selection who appeared in 38 games, making nine starts. In a 2021 game against the Eagles, he played 36 defensive snaps and recorded three tackles, one of which was for a loss as the Eagles won 44-6. In the 2022 season opener against Philadelphia, he did not play.

In just nine games last season, Okwara recorded seven tackles and two sacks. However, he was cut loose prior to the Lions’ NFC Divisional Round matchup, signed to the practice the following day, and was not extended a futures contract offer by Detroit.
