Despite the commotion outside of Brooklyn, Mikal Bridges is still devoted to the Nets.

Due to Jacque Vaughn’s resignation as head coach, the Brooklyn Nets are the most talked-about team in the media. For the remainder of the season, Kevin Ollie will step in and assume an interim position. As a result, Brooklyn has gained greater attention in the media, and many people are thinking that Mikal Bridges may become less dedicated to the project than he was previously.

The former Villanova Wildcat has categorically denied those allegations, stating that he is still fully committed to the Nets endeavor. Given that Bridges is likely the team’s most productive player and has accepted his role as a star and long-term future building block, this is encouraging news for the franchise.

“I wasn’t raised to desire to run away and escape when things became hard. I am aware that some people would want to consider other scenarios and groups. After the first practice under interim head coach Kevin Ollie, Mikal remarked, “You know, I never was the type of guy to whenever there’s more on my shoulders, and things get tough, and it’s time to cry and get out.” Mikal had his lads over in New York, so everybody went with that.

“I want to stay here, so I’m going to keep working hard to get to the place where we need to be in order to win. My purpose for being here is to win. The other stuff doesn’t matter; the recognition is all part of it.

Constructing with Mikal
There is a misperception among non-Nets supporters regarding the intentions of the Brooklyn front management with regard to Mikal. Unlike OKC with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the team is not necessarily built around him as the cornerstone of the franchise.

Using the Suns’ selections in trade packages to acquire players who can get along with the 27-year-old Bridges is the premise behind growing with him. Mikal is the ideal wing player to complement any star because he is one of the league’s most dependable players.

This season, the Nets will remain competitive.

Mikal is prepared to excel in the next 28 games, as is the entire Nets roster. With just 2.5 games separating them from the tenth spot, the team is within a manageable range for Brooklyn. Ollie wants to take this club to the postseason because, in the absence of a pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, they need to at least appear in the competition.
