Blake Corum and the winding road back to his destiny

The Detroit Garage bills services tires, breaks, wheel alignment, oil changes, suspension and engines and has 10 locations in the Detroit metro area.

Corum has been one of the leaders in the NIL space the past two seasons as his play on the field has fueled Michigan’s success.

He could have gone to the NFL after last season when he rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns as the Wolverines reached the College Football Playoff. But he opted to stay in Ann Arbor and is having another fine season, with 605 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns through his first eight games.

That success has helped Corum agree to partnerships with a diverse group of businesses both nationally and in the Michigan area, as he has deals with local companies as Burt Watson Auto Group. He also has deals with national-recognized brands like Outback Steakhouse, 7-Eleven, Wolverines Boots and Subway.

Corum also has his own web site with T-shirts and other merchandise.

The current sign-stealing scandal at Michigan, which has roiled the program in recent weeks, hasn’t put a dent in Corum’s ability to carve out a significant space in the NIL market.
