On the morning of February 16, a very crazy blockbuster trade involving the New York Giants was proposed on ESPN’s Get Up — and it was proposed by none other than a former NFL general manager.

Giants trade suggestion swaps Daniel Jones with Browns QB Deshaun Watson.

Former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum declared on Friday morning, “I’m trading [Cleveland Browns quarterback] Deshaun Watson and a second-round pick to the New York Giants for Daniel Jones.” Talk about audacious.

“Listen to me out,” Tannenbaum said, mentioning that the Cleveland Browns possessed Daniel Jones, a 27-year-old with plenty of flexibility moving ahead and $36 million in guaranteed pay left, as well as Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Joe Flacco.

“If you’re the Giants, you’re getting a second-round pick and 29-year-old Deshaun Watson, who will make $46 million a year over the next three years,” the former NFL executive continued. “I think the Giants need a quarterback who can make a big difference up front.”

With Jones at quarterback, Tannenbaum also emphasized that Big Blue’s ceiling is insufficient to defeat the NFC’s San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers.

The current ESPN panelist said, “Deshaun Watson hasn’t played well the last couple of years, but he has a high upside and he’s only 29 years old.”
