During an emotional interview, Sam Clafin discussed his divorce from Laura Haddock, the star of Inbetweeners, and acknowledged that the breakup had left him in need of therapy.
The actress,37, and the actor,36, who starred in Daisy Jones & The Six together, separated in 2019. Their children, Pip,6, and Margot,4, are still together.
“It’s a horrendous thing to go through,” he stated in reference to their divorce. Having children undoubtedly makes any breakup considerably more difficult. I had a lot of mental struggles and really struggled with the kids during Covid.”
In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he issues with confidence and that Daisy Jones & The Six’s producers “just had to make do” with Sam.
“I’m working on this in therapy,” he candidly stated in an interview with GQ.
Sam recently portrayed a musician who is having marital problems in Daisy Jones & The Six on Amazon Prime Video.
He clarified that it was the first occasion following the dissolution of his own marriage to the Inbetweeners actor that he had found it simple to cry on television.
In August 2019, the couple shared a joint Instagram post announcing their breakup.
It read: “Laura and I have decided to legally separate. We will move forward with nothing but love, friendship and a deep respect for one another whilst we continue to raise our family together.
“We won’t be commenting on this further. Thank you in advance for your support and respecting our privacy at this time. Both of us x.”
Both Sam and Laura have since moved on with the Peaky Blinders star dating Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex Cassie Amato, 28, while Laura is in a relationship with her White Lines co-star Tom Rhys Harries, 30.
