According to a booking report from Saturday, Patrick Mahomes Sr., the superstar quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated.

According to the story, the senior Mahomes was arrested for DWI and lodged at Tyler, Texas’s Smith County Jail.

According to jail records, Mahomes, 53, was freed on Sunday. His $10,000 surety bond was posted.

An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by the elder Mahomes’ representatives.

In 2018, he was also taken into custody on a DWI allegation.

The following year, according to court documents in Smith County, Texas, Mahomes Sr. was given a sentence that included 40 days in jail to be served on weekends.

On February 11, the Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

During the first half of his career, Mahomes Sr. pitched for the Minnesota Twins before switching organizations, and he spent 11 seasons in the Major Leagues.
