SAD NEWS: Warriors have experienced yet another injury bug

Andrew Wiggins' girlfriend responds to rumors she cheated on him with his best friend | Marca

The Warriors were struck by injuries once more, just when it appeared like they were about to settle into a routine. Following a collision with Clint Capela in the second half of the Atlanta Hawks game, Andrew Wiggins did not return. In his place, Brandin Podziemski got begun. The Athletic’s Anthony Slater disclosed that Wiggins had a left ankle injury, and it’s unclear when he will be back. After the incident with Capela, he was hobbling, so hopefully nothing serious.

Even though Wiggins hasn’t fully developed into the player he once was for the Warriors, he had a great game against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers. Andrew Wiggins was averaging 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists on 49/35/80 shooting in his previous ten games. Although the figures are higher than his season average, they are still far lower than his career average and his prior performance for the Warriors.

Given their history with ailments, the Golden State Warriors will need to use a next-man-up approach to get beyond Wiggins’ injury. Expect Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski to play more minutes with the squad. Trade rumors surrounding Wiggins were the talk of the town going into tonight, and as the team plays through his injury, those whispers will probably not go away. With any luck, Andrew Wiggins’ ankle injury won’t require much time off.
