All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson and the Eagles have agreed to a one-year, $33 million contract extension, which will keep the key players together for the foreseeable future.

By doing this, $10 million in cap room is created, and Johnson’s contract is maintained through the 2026 NFL season.

The NFL’s top offensive line will remain intact for at least the next two years with Johnson back. Jason Kelce is the only player on the offensive line who is not signed until 2025.

Here is a quick examination of the first wave of free agency now that it has been documented.

According to Mike Garafolo, Johnson was under contract until 2025 and accounted for $47.305 million over the following three years. He has $14,405,000 remaining on his $72 million contract inked in 2019. Johnson will receive an additional season’s salary along with an annual salary rise under the new agreement.

Johnson was supposed to have a $24.2 million cap in 2023. That comes down to about $14.8 million with his extension.

With the draft approaching and Jalen Hurts’ new contract, the Eagles are able to save $9.4 million on this year’s cap, bringing it to roughly $22 million.
