At the Dolphins-Patriots game on Sunday night in Foxborough, Massachusetts, a supporter of the New England Patriots passed away after taking a punch to the head from another spectator. Although the original autopsy report suggested that the punches were unlikely to have caused his death, the incident is still being looked into.

Dale Mooney, 53, of Newmarket, New Hampshire, experienced a medical problem late in Sunday night’s 24-17 Dolphins victory at Gillette Stadium. After being brought to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead just after midnight

Witnesses claimed that before Mooney fell to the ground, a man purportedly sporting a Dolphins jersey struck him twice in the face. The early postmortem results indicate Mooney did not sustain a traumatic injury, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, which said on Wednesday that the investigation is still underway.

What is known about the occurrence is as follows:

The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office reported on Monday that at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, security and police attended to a man who needed medical assistance at the Dolphins vs. Patriots game. Mooney was the man, and he was in Gillette Stadium’s upper deck.

Lisa Mooney, Mooney’s wife, claimed that her husband attended the game with three friends and that during the game, other fans made fun of them. Reporters were informed by another witness that Mooney, a Patriots supporter, and a man wearing a Dolphins jersey were fighting and scuffled.
