A.J. Brown Takes A Few Startling Steps Using Social Media

Prior to their Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, the Philadelphia Eagles are not in a good place.

They have suffered five straight losses and are currently struggling with injuries to wide receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Due to his knee injury sustained in the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants, Brown might not even be able to play.

Furthermore, Brown behaved strangely on social media this week.

The veteran wide receiver erased any references to the Eagles from his Instagram account and his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Now, this might all be for naught because athletes sometimes take time off from social media during pivotal periods in their careers.

However, given all the negative vibes around the Eagles lately, the timing seems strange.

Even though Brown still has three years left on his contract, his choice to remove the Eagles references from his Instagram account is more suggestive of a disagreement about the terms of his contract than a social media purge.

It’s not a good sign going into the playoffs, whatever is going on with Brown and the Eagles.

Philadelphia will have to examine itself closely if it loses and decide what has to be done to become the same club that won the Super Bowl the previous season, perhaps changing coaches, personnel, or both.

  1. With these Eagles, something has to give, and Brown seems to be tired of everything they’ve been through recently.
