Nick Sirianni discusses the Eagles injuries, Jeffrey Lurie’s support, and more.

The Eagles coaches returned to work on Monday, and head coach Nick Sirianni spoke with media about injury reports and how to coach through a rut like the one they’re in. He also mentioned having Jeff Lurie’s support and how they are extremely aware of the difficulty of changing defensive play callers in the middle of the season.

When asked if he would make any adjustments to the offensive or defensive play calling, Sirianni responded simply, “No.”

Sirianni confirmed that Sydney Brown will miss the rest of the year, as the safety stated earlier in the day. He expressed his grief for players like Brown and Nakobe Dean who are out for the full season.

“I sympathize with them because I know how difficult it is to want to be on the field with your brothers and be unable to do so because your body will not allow it. That is a tremendously difficult thing.”

The head coach also stated that it would be determined later this week whether DeVonta Smith, Cam Jurgens, and/or A.J. Brown will face the Bucs on Monday night.

“To accomplish our goals, we need everyone working together. We will see how the week progresses. Hopeful for everyone.”

He was also asked about Jalen Hurts’ return to the game after dislocating his finger, and how the quarterback luckily averted a fracture and more serious damage.

“When he came out of the tent, I kept a careful eye on him and watched him toss. He looked at me and said, ‘I’m going,’ and he grabbed his helmet and picked it up, and it gives you goosebumps to think about one of your finest players doing that and battling for his team.

So yes, we’ll see. We’ll see how the week goes, but I know he’ll be sore. There is no mistake about it, and I know that finger will stiffen and he will have to work hard to ensure that he is ready to go. But I have no doubt that he will do everything he can to accomplish that, and that he will be
