AP/EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY The Philadelphia Eagles, the reigning NFC champions, were two games ahead of the other teams in the race for the NFL’s top record a little over a month ago at 10-1.

Things have changed since December, when they lost four out of five.

A postseason spot is all that the Eagles (11-5) have to look forward to as they prepare to tackle the New York Giants (5-11) at MetLife Stadium. In order to win the NFC East, they would need to defeat the Giants and hope that the Cowboys would either lose or draw with the Washington Redskins. They currently trail Dallas (11-5) in the tiebreaker.

If not, Philadelphia will open the playoffs as the NFC’s fifth seed and will travel to face the winner of the NFC South.

The least of coach Nick Sirianni’s concerns is the absence of a possible home game. The Eagles are struggling, especially when it comes to defense. Last Saturday, they were defeated by the Cardinals 35–31. It was Arizona’s (4-12) fourth victory of the year.

Since he took over in 2021, Sirianni said, his staff has persisted in putting in a lot of effort, having talks, and adhering to the procedure that has led them.

Everyone aspires to triumph. As you can tell from this group, everyone wants to win and will stop at nothing to accomplish so, Sirianni remarked.

Philadelphia’s dominance over the Giants is good news. The Eagles have triumphed in 13 out of 15 games and five in a row. Their lone victory in December came on Christmas Day versus New York.

The Giants have underperformed after making the playoffs in 2022, Brian Daboll’s first season as head coach. They have lost their last three games going into the championship.

Giants standout linebacker and special teams player Cam Brown stated, “I mean, this is a division rival.” “This week, we’re working toward flipping the script and getting back on track.”

Final Word, Numerous players on the Giants roster are set to become unrestricted free agents in the summer unless they sign a contract by March 31st or are assigned a franchise tag.
