ACTION TO WATCH: Haason Reddick, an Eagle. When facing the Giants, the linebacker/edge rusher from New Jersey has always been a threat. On a fourth-and-1 from the Eagles 21 two weeks prior, he stopped Saquon Barkley on a fourth down after four quarterback hits. Last season, he recorded five tackles, one and a half sacks, three quarterback hits.

Darius Slayton is a Giants player to watch. In the last two games, the five-year veteran has shown himself to be a serious threat. On Christmas Day against the Philadelphia Eagles, he hauled in a 69-yard touchdown ball from Tyrod Taylor. A little over a week later, he and the seasoned quarterback connected for an 80-yard score against the Los Angeles Rams. Last week, he had four receptions for 106 yards.

ESSENTIAL MATCHUP: The Giants’ defense must slow down the Eagles and Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia has combined for 881 yards and 71 points in the Christmas Day game and the playoff game played last season. Hurts has not amassed a lot of stats, but he has scored two touchdowns on the ground and three touchdowns passing. Philadelphia was 10 of 17 overall on third and fourth down tries during the Christmas Day game.

Eagles: DT are the key injuries. LB Haason Reddick (illness), WR DeVonta Smith (ankle), and WR Jordan Davis (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. CB Avonte Maddox (elbow) and LB Zach Cunningham (knee) were restricted. They have missed the previous three games due to injuries. Giants: RT Tyre Phillips is sidelined after rupturing a quad tendon on Sunday. Matt Peart takes his place. S Toe-wearing Jason Pinnock and C After suffering a shin injury against the Rams, John Michael Schmitz was limited in practice.
