WILX-TV in Dallas reports. The Lions have officially clinched the NFC North for the first time since 1993, while Dallas has already clinched a postseason spot. Each of these teams’ goal is to improve their playoff place.

Detroit wants to be the two-seed in the NFC, but in the worst-case scenario, it will be the three-seed. If they want to be the top seed, they must win on Saturday night. If the Lions beat Dallas and Minnesota to finish the season, they will be the two seeds with a chance to grab the one seed and a bye, but they will need help.

Dallas, on the other hand, wishes to experiment.

At 2:22 of the third period, Jack Works knotted the game for Tech. Kyle Kukkonen pushed the puck up the left wall and feed Works in the slot for his second goal of the night. At 9:29, Works completed his hat trick – Chase Pietela attempted from the half wall on the right side, and although Di Pasquo made the initial save, Works was there to pop back the rebound on the left. MSU was unfazed and tied things up again at 12:03. David Gucciardi had a strong shift, collecting the puck below the goal line, skating to the top of the left circle, and throwing a vicious lead pass right.

Overtime: Both netminders were up to the challenge in the extra period, as MSU fired nine shots on Pietela (two from point-blank range by Joey Larson), while Di Pasquo made four saves in the Spartan end to put an end to any MTU hero hopes.
