Today, I feel the need to reach out — not just as a cyclist, but as Tadej, a 25-year-old who, like everyone else, navigates through highs and lows, triumphs and doubts. It’s easy to see only the victories, the podiums, the yellow jerseys, but I want to share a little more of the human side you don’t always see.
Cycling has given me so much. It’s my passion, my dream, and my profession. But it’s also a demanding life that asks for sacrifices, not just from me, but from my family, my friends, and the people I love. There are days when the weight of expectation feels heavier than the steepest mountain climb. There are moments of loneliness in hotel rooms far from home, where medals mean little compared to a simple hug from someone who truly knows you.
I want to say thank you — from the bottom of my heart — for your unwavering support. Every cheer, every message, every smile at the roadside means more to me than you can imagine. You lift me when the road feels endless. You remind me why I ride.
Away from the races, I am simply Tadej: someone who loves his dog, who laughs with friends over silly jokes, who plays guitar badly but enthusiastically, who dreams not just of winning races, but of living a meaningful, joyful life. I’m learning, growing, making mistakes, and striving to become not just a better cyclist, but a better person.
My hope is that we can keep sharing this journey together, not only in moments of glory but also in moments of defeat and reflection. Because true strength isn’t just crossing the finish line first — it’s about staying true to yourself no matter the result.
In every climb I conquer, in every sprint I attempt, you are with me. And for that, I am forever grateful.
