An Open Letter from Stephen Curry to Coach Steve Kerr
Dear Coach Kerr,
It’s hard to put into words what your leadership has meant to me, to our team, and to the entire Golden State Warriors community. But I wanted to take this moment—on behalf of myself, my teammates, and Warriors fans around the world—to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
From the day you stepped into our locker room in 2014, you brought something special. It wasn’t just your basketball mind—though that alone is next level. It was your ability to connect with us as people first. You created a culture built on trust, joy, accountability, and selflessness. And most importantly, you believed in us.
You believed in me.
You empowered me to be myself, to play freely, to lead confidently, and to chase greatness with humility. Under your guidance, I’ve grown not just as a player, but as a man. You pushed me and supported me, challenged me and encouraged me. You trusted us in the biggest moments—and that trust brought out the best in us.
Together, we built something unforgettable. Championships. Finals runs. All those playoff battles. The celebrations, the heartbreaks, the comebacks. You taught us how to win, but you also taught us how to lose with grace and how to keep striving. You’ve been the steady voice through every high and low.
Off the court, your courage to speak truth, to advocate for justice, and to lead with empathy has been nothing short of inspiring. You showed the world what it means to use your platform with purpose—and you’ve set an example I’ll carry with me forever.
To the fans: You saw it too. Coach Kerr wasn’t just drawing up plays—he was building a family. A dynasty grounded in unity and purpose. And none of it would have been possible without him.
Coach, wherever the journey takes you from here—know that your legacy here is everlasting. You are, and will always be, a Warrior. And I’ll always be grateful for every lesson, every laugh, and every moment we shared on this ride.
