EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants completed their second day of training camp on Thursday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center. Here are some of the takeaways.

More factors than football in Giants' decision on not trading Saquon Barkley

Offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor escaped major injury after Wednesday’s collision with 340-pound defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.

Eluemunor was in uniform Thursday and participated in walk-thru portions of practice. Josh Ezeudu took first-team right tackle reps during 11-on-11 work.

“I’m OK. Little banged up, but that’s the name of the game playing offensive line,” Eluemunor said, adding that it’s “not fun. Not fun at all” taking a shot from Lawrence.

“In my, what, eight-year career, I haven’t missed a day of training camp, so I was going to come out here either way and try and do as much as I could.”

Speaking before Thursday’s practice, head coach Brian Daboll said he was pleased with quarterback Daniel Jones on Wednesday during the first workout.

“Made good decisions. It’s good to get him out there and feel some of the rush,” Daboll said. “You know, Dexter’s in the middle of the pocket a couple times, and he’s got to move and use his legs. I thought he did well.”

Jones again took all of the first-team reps as the Giants worked several 11-on-11 periods. Daboll and the Giants felt good enough about Jones that they even ran a couple of quarterback draws. Granted, these are non-contact practices but the Eluemunor-Lawrence mishap is a reminder that things do happen. So, exposing Jones on inside running plays was an interesting choice.

Jones went 9 of 13 on Thursday. He air-mailed one quick sideline toss to Devin Singletary, but otherwise threw the ball well. The highlight Jones’ throw of the day was this deep ball to Jalin Hyatt for a touchdown:
