ICC Responds After Alleged Terror Threat To T20 World Cup In West Indies,

Following reports indicating that Cricket West Indies had received an alleged terror threat targeting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said that it is taking proactive measures to mitigate any risks associated with hosting this prestigious event.

In an official statement, the ICC said that it is working closely with Men’s T20 World Cup host countries – the West Indies and the USA, to ensure appropriate plans are in place amidst a terror threat to the showpiece event.

Cricket West Indies also addressed the terror threats, stating, “We want to assure all stakeholders that the safety and security of everyone at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is our number one priority, and we have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place.”

Responding to the situation, Trinidad Prime Minister Keith Rowley pledged to enhance national security preparations and readiness to address the threat effectively.

Commencing on June 1, the 9th edition of the tournament will see participation from twenty countries, spread across six venues in the West Indies and three in the USA.
