The late Norm Snead was a quarterback with the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was eighty-four.
According to a Wake Forest spokeswoman, Snead’s family notified the university of his death on Sunday. Snead played collegiate ball there.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound player was an All-ACC performer at Wake Forest prior to being selected by Washington in the second round of the 1961 NFL Draft and Buffalo in the 35th round of the 1961 AFL Draft.
He joined the Washington team, where he played all the way through the 1963 campaign.
A Wake Forest spokesman said that Snead’s family informed the school of his passing on Sunday. It was where Snead played collegiate ball.
Before being taken by Buffalo in the 35th round of the 1961 AFL Draft and Washington in the second round of the 1961 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound player was an All-ACC performer at Wake Forest.
He signed on with the Washington team, where he participated in games during the 1963 season.
In 1972, his completion % led the NFL.
In addition to 196 touchdowns and 257 interceptions, Snead concluded his career with 30,797 passing yards.
