The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey event organizers issued a warning in December of last year regarding phony Lafreniere 2013 cards that were being sold on websites with the event logo printed on them. The phony cards were discovered by the organizers and were being sold on eBay for $100.

In a statement released on Friday, Quebec City Police claimed that they had detained the suspect two days prior and that, during a search conducted as part of their ongoing investigation, they had found numerous hockey cards and digital devices. They said the choice of charges will be left to the prosecutors.
