ESPN REPORT: The head coach of Celtic FC was fired due to his relationship with Callum McGregor’s wife.
There are now a lot of unanswered questions regarding the Celtic management position.

Brendan Rodgers took over as head coach of the team after Ange Postecoglou left, and many assumed they had at least identified their next head coach for the next few years. Regretfully, up until this point, the Northern Irishman’s second stint at Parkhead has not been nearly as successful as his first.

It seems highly likely that Rodgers will be shown the door if Celtic fail to win the league by the conclusion of the season. Therefore, it’s possible that the Hoops may need to find a new manager much earlier than anyone could have predicted—next summer.

Of course, Rodgers could turn things around over the next couple of months and let’s hope he does. After being sacked by Leicester City last season, he will surely want to make his second run at Parkhead a successful one.

One manager who is not expected to ever get a second stint as Celtic boss is Ronny Deila. It had looked like the Norwegian’s career on the rise but things have headed south once again. He has been sacked by Club Brugge.

Former Celtic manager sacked with blunt announcement

Club Brugge’s official announcement of Deila’s exit is very interesting as well. The manager was not even thanked for his contributions to the club, having joined them in July of last year. The statement read:

That is a pretty blunt way of putting it to say the very least. As things stand, Club Brugge sit 4th in the Belgian top flight, 19 points behind the league leaders. Let’s see where things go for Deila from here

Deila’s stint at Club Brugge did not even last a year. This will come as a blow for the former manager as well after a couple of good spells at New York City FC and Standard Liege.
