As the new head coach of UofL, Brohm, who was an assistant coach under Bobby Petrino and played for Howard Schnellenberger, returns to his city, his family, and his alma university.
The official announcement was made on Thursday at Cardinal Stadium’s Angel’s Envy Bourbon Club by Director of Athletics Josh Heird. Heird remarked, “We’re thrilled to welcome Head Coach Jeff Brohm and his family to the University of Louisville.”
Louisville is connected with the Brohm family. At UofL, Jeff, his father, Oscar, and his brothers, Greg and Brian, have all earned football letter awards. In 1994, the 51-year-old native of Louisville graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has a daughter named Brook and a boy named Brady with his wife Jennifer.
After taking over the Purdue Boilermakers on December 5, 2016, Brohm managed to win the program four bowl games and its first Big Ten West Divisional championship in 2022. Despite losing to No. 2 Michigan in the championship game, the Boilers were nonetheless awarded a ticket to the Citrus Bowl in January 2023.
